IRCTC Launched Mobile App To Book Train Tickets Through Mobile.


The IRCTC has said that after an initial registration and downloading of suitable software on a mobile handset with internet facility, users would be able to book their tickets through the same.

The application can be downloaded from the IRCTC website and also from various associates of IRCTC viz, NGPAY, ATOM and Paymate.
A passenger has to register at the time of first transaction and thereafter book the ticket using his ID and password. The application is functional on most of the GPRS/browser-based phones.
After booking the tickets via app the customer will receive a message with full details of ticket,and so customer doesn't need to take a print with. You can show the ticket details on your mobile to officer.
Hemant Tapale, the executive president of Pune-Mumbai Pravasi Sangh said the service would help passengers as they would not have to stand in queues for booking. Also, passengers going for last minute booking will benefit the most. Also the customer will be charged 10 or 20rs as per ticket class per user agent.
